The thought police gaining in strength
Wanna coddle everyone that suffered
Real or imagined pain
Lies and deceit
An alibi for one’s own mistakes
Some are perfect
The rest of us are fallible fools
Mind control manipulators with a flair for the dramatic
Secretly conspiring in dim lighted caves
To somehow destroy one’s serenity.

One learns to keep their mouth shut
When there’s no news of paradise to share
Or a tale of woe is rejected
For it doesn’t meet criteria
The flawed human condition
Is only meant and reserved for a select few
They not only want your money
But your soul as well.

No longer an idealistic wet behind the ears
But a misanthrope enslaved by his disappointments
The whipping boy for your faults
Spurious resentments
And a lack of contentment
Despite nary a storm cloud in the sky
If philosophy is about asking why
The seer must try to offer solutions
Yet remain careful with his words
Or be accused of contributing further to the problem.
