Your Word and Your gift of eternal life, which is knowledge of You and Your Father, have infinite value and You have entrusted Your gifts to Your faithful followers (NLT, 2828). Your brother Jude wrote to motivate us all to action and those who do not seek to know You, the Truth, in Your Word, are vulnerable to apostasy (NLT, 2828-2829). This is when people turn away from Your truth and embrace false teachings (NLT, 2829). Without study, we cannot know what to defend and You have graciously revealed Yourself to us through Your Word and Your Commentary (NLT, 2829-2830). In Jude 1:22-23, You are telling me to show mercy to those whose faith is wavering and rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment and to show mercy to still others but doing so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives (NLT, 2832). Bringing people to You saves them from Your Father's judgment and I can do this via compassion and kindness (NLT, 2832).
