The comeback is contrived
Lies and deceit buried
Beneath a brave face
No matter how hard you carry
With strength and vigor
You feel like the lowest and loneliest speck
That should have been aborted
Until the next time his will
Would be in fashionable demand.

You encouraged others to be different
To embrace their uniqueness
To rally against the clichés of humanity
Now, you’ve become the cliché
Without fire
A dire imagination
So where does this arrogance of pride get you?
Humbled after the fall.

An SOS call
Hoping someone will answer
You’ve drifted so far off shore
You wonder if anyone gives a damn
A stress free existence is a myth
And all the witty quips that pore forth
Just keep people from getting to know the real you
Feeling complete isn’t an event
It’s a process of shedding skin
One painful layer at a time.
