Distorted perception
Of brainwashed minds
Indoctrinated from an early age
Terrified of you becoming a sage
And destroying their so called logic
And putting their utopian ideals to shame.

One can’t create unity
Via division
Separating everyone into a niche
Based on style
Vacuous superficiality
Where one is exiled immediately
Before a word is spoken
Hearts are revealed
Then you wonder why
People turn away.

Let me weigh the experiences
And consider all the possibilities thoughtfully
Before reaching a decision
It may not be the one you like
But I will not besmirch my integrity
Just to fit your understanding of social harmony
For if you only took the time to listen
You may conclude I’m not the evil man
Those insisted to you I am
But one maxim I learned
Was to try to make the world a better place
Honesty can be brutal
Reality is sometimes futile
But I can’t be a selfish intolerant stooge
With a gun to morality’s head.
