I lift up my eyes to the hills,
Upon where my support comes from;
Because I know my Lord instills,
For He is giving asylum.

My assistance comes from the Lord,
Who created Heaven and earth;
Because of Him He is adored,
By all creatures been given birth.

He will not let your foot be moved,
He who keeps you will not slumber;
While understanding is behooved,
Whatever you may encumber.

For He who keeps you will not sleep,
Watching over you night and day;
Like a shepherd watching His sheep,
Rescues you when you went astray.

For the Lord will be your keeper,
As being the shade from the heat;
Protects you from the grim reaper,
Who is the footstool for His feet.

The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor shall the moon or stars by night;
No beast shall make you as His prey,
His hand will be blocking their sight.

The Lord will keep you from evil,
He will preserve your life and soul;
Casting not unto the devil,
When allowing Him to control.

The Lord will keep your going out,
As well as with your coming in;
To always be free from all doubt,
And stop the temptation of sin.

From this time forth and evermore,
Allow the Lord to be your guide;
As you labor every chore,
Always let Him be by your side.
