The answers don’t lie there
At an aging house
Upon a poor foundation
As much as you believe
Regardless of who was right or wrong
You chose to wilt
Despite being provided with the power
To remain strong
You knew where it came from
They pounced on weakness
Took every last ounce of innocence from you.

There are pieces missing
But the images are slowly reappearing
They long for you to remain silent
They want you to trudge out the excuse
You didn’t know any better
Sickness of soul
Mental illness
You are to blame.

If the lack of accountability
Didn’t work for you
Why are they immune
Cover up to be abolished
It’s time for them
To face their sins
And their pristine appearances
Are to blown up
The ugliness has to be faced.

Yet, I’m exhausted with being a victim
And letting them hold the cards
Thus having and maintaining control over me
Undeservedly so.
