Rat from the race
Hamster off the wheel
A frenzied pace
Infected bloodstream
Of nicotine and caffeine
To avoid collapse.

But I feel exhausted
Just want to lie down
Watch the river flow calmly
I want to wrap my arms
Around the wind and soothe
These anxious feelings
Cause I’m scattered
Disorganized
And a word to the wise
You can’t outrun the demons
No matter how many distractions
Are surmised and improvised.

So, I’m looking for the cure
Detox the toxicity from mind
Body and soul
Be in touch with the one I love dearly
Find my center while awaking
In these beautiful dreams being caught
Under a shower of rain cleansed
As I cuddle up to her
Free of deadlines and expectations
Hearts conjoined
No worrying
Ultimate bliss
The passionate, perfective kiss
Free to perform what is desired
Without obligation
Restraint
Manna heaven indeed.
