Be gracious to me, O Lord,
Let me take refuge in You;
Please let me not be ignored,
Help me be faithful and true.

Shelter me under your wings,
Till the danger passes by;
I am fearful what it brings,
And maybe cause me to die.

I call upon the Most High,
Fulfills His purpose in me;
Answers when I question why,
By giving insight to see.

He reaches down from Heaven,
Saves me from tribulation;
Through the love He has given,
For my heart jubilation.

He confronts and challenges,
Evil that tramples my soul;
Love and truth encourages,
As I leave Him in control.

I am surrounded by beasts,
Desire to devour;
Of my flesh that each one feasts,
Would taste both sweet and sour.

Their teeth are spears and arrows,
And their tongues like a sharp sword;
But my Lord already knows,
To repel them with His Word.

Be exalted up above,
Let your glory fall on earth;
Allowing the flow of love,
Sanctifying a new birth.

My heart fixed and confident,
Unto God I will sing praise;
Let me be a resident,
Residing within your ways.

Wake up my soul at the dawn,
As I ascend to the cloud;
Whence from this earth I am gone,
And I join the righteous crowd.
