Never have I been one to enjoy
A crowded conversation all true
Everybody talking about their lives
None of which does it concern you

I love a quiet conversation with
Those interested in ones thoughts
They telling their views of same
Ones open minded thinking reports

But endless others all talking as one
At the same time I just want to go
My unable to even think at the time
Most not even wanting at all to know

Has me wanting to go to my own room
Or to another place as if at the time
Them indicating they are not interested
By changing subjects and their mind

Asking myself what was I doing there
Guessing I misjudged them re same
All taking more interested in their lives
My thinking hope to god for more rain

I love a quiet conversation it being rare
But this being the reason I spend time
Alone as much as I really do of late
Being able to think at least not a crime

Not liking crowded conversations at all
I end up writing as I've done for years
About the realities of life been and alive
Better a lone coffee without any fears

Much younger are they haven't lived yet
Never traveled as I've done in my life
Lived as if protected lives so to speak
And the chance of conversation in strife

It all became a conglomeration at the best
One from Scotland contradicting himself
Nobody picked it up but he kept on and on
A quiet conversation out the window gone
And sounded more like a heavy metal song
