I myself remember oldest sayings
Give them an inch they take a mile
The old terms re selective memories
All that's gone now by the pile

Anyone remember days of leprosy
How so many were once infected
People who dedicated their lives
In curing it just as I suspected

All this now woe about Australia Day
The boats came none had a clue
Whatever day it was back then
Or the benefits to come it's true

Clothes tools new ways of thinking
Later homes schools medication too
All so many have today since then
All they never knew then it's true

One country flag.. one government
Time to simply accept become one
As long before the boats all arrived
In so many ways a better life begun

Convicts suffered believe me true
Nobody's complaining of that no way
They just made the best out of it all
With a right to celebrate Australia Day
