Friend Indeed

As years roll by, friends grow and change;
Some shape our most treasured memories,
While others drift like seasons gone.

Yet some, as if destined for our road,
Walk beside us through shifting skies
A silver lining in heavy blue,
Sifting the chaff and keeping the wheat.
They listen—not to judge
But to guide with gentle truth.

These are the souls we hold close,
Bound by laughter and guarded secrets,
By promises not easily undone.

They carry a quiet kind of magic
Stepping in when we falter,
Standing firm when we fall,
Offering light we can trust in the dark.

No distance, no trial, no passing time
Can thin the thread that binds such hearts.
Patient through change,
Tender in understanding.

True friends walk in when others walk away,
Lend strength when ours runs dry,
And help us see love clearly
As we reach for our farthest rainbows.
