Call for women mourning,
Send those that are skillful;
As a method of warning,
God declares as willful.

Let them raise a wailing,
Allowing to make haste;
That God is prevailing,
Leaving no time to waste.

Our eyes may have tears,
Water flows down eyelids;
As the foes build their fears,
Shouts of what God forbids.

It is heard from Zion,
Sound of being destroyed;
Like a roaring lion,
All desires devoid.

We are utterly shamed,
Because we left the land;
All that we had proclaimed,
All the things we had planned.

Hear the Word of the Lord,
And let your ears receive;
Your daughters not ignored,
Lamenting they believe.

Death comes through the windows,
As it enters a house;
Making women widows,
And killing off their spouse.

Cuts off children from streets,
And young men from the squares,
It poisons what one eats,
Diseases that impairs.

The dead bodies of men,
Shall be falling like dung;
The reaper will again,
Strike with a righteous tongue.

Let not the wise man boast,
Mighty men boast of might;
Only the Holy Ghost,
That will guide them with light.
