Do not despise the Lord,
Or weary of reproof;
Discipline not ignored,
conceived not as a spoof.

Despise not chastening,
Weary of correction;
Judge not in hastening,
Confess for connection.

God reproves who He loves,
Like a father delights;
His Spirit comes like doves,
Any of those who incites.

Bless who does find wisdom,
Who gets understanding;
That flows from His Kingdom,
Fights what is demanding.

Gain is better than gain,
From silver or from gold;
For how worthy is pain,
From wealth that would unfold.

More precious than the jewels,
Than nothing you compare;
Someone who ridicules,
Willingly not to share.

Long life in the right hand,
And honor on the left;
As you righteously stand,
Vigilant against theft.

The ways of pleasantness,
Through all the paths to peace;
Assured with blessedness,
Harmony will not cease.

The tree of life to those,
Have been able to hold;
Are blessing them who chose,
Exerting to be bold.

For the Lord by wisdom,
As founded on the earth;
For understanding seldom,
Is showing its true worth.

For His knowledge broke deep,
As clouds drop down the dew;
Waking you from your sleep,
Allowing you to construe.
